Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup traditional rolled oats (not instant)
  • 1 cup unsweetened milk (plant-based or full-fat dairy)
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp ground cardamom
  • 2 tsp pure maple syrup
  • Dash of salt

Instructions
 

  • Mix the spices and chia seeds together.
  • Combine oats, milk, spices, chia seeds and maple syrup in a bowl.
  • Transfer the mixture to a jar and cover.
  • Refrigerate overnight (8-12 hours).
  • Serve warm or cold. Makes 2 servings.

Notes

  1. To turn this into a balanced, satisfying meal, pair it with a source of protein like full-fat plain yogurt, a spoonful of nut butter, or collagen/protein powder stirred right in. You could also enjoy it alongside eggs for a more savory complement.
  2. Serve with nuts and seeds for extra fiber and crunch.
